The Story of Kong Rong and the Pears

Kong Rong was a remarkable child. At the tender age of four, he was already able to recite numerous poems and verses, and he was well-versed in etiquette. His parents adored him for his intelligence and kindness. One day, his father brought home some pears, carefully selecting the largest one for Kong Rong. However, Kong Rong shook his head and chose the smallest pear, saying, "I am the youngest； I should eat the smallest pear. Please give your pear to my brother." His father was taken aback by his response and asked again, "Is that younger brother younger than you？" Kong Rong nodded, "Yes, indeed." His father was so impressed by his selflessness and wisdom that he praised him even more.
